Chamber PAC Endorses Tom Whiston

COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (OCCPaC), the political action committee of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Ohio's largest and most diverse statewide business advocacy group, has endorsed Tom Whiston (R-Mt. Gilead) in the Republican primary for the 90th district seat in the Ohio House of Representatives.  The 90th district includes Knox and Morrow Counties and parts of Ashland and Richland Counties.

Whiston was endorsed by OCCPaC based upon his commitment to the issues important to Ohio employers – as determined by his responses to the Chamber’s 2008 Candidate Questionnaire – and his 25 years of business experience.  Whiston, a pharmacist, is the owner and manager of Whiston Pharmacy in Mt. Gilead.  The Ohio Chamber of Commerce believes that the General Assembly will benefit greatly from the kind of knowledge and private sector experience that he possesses.

“Whiston has a unique understanding of the impact governmental decisions have on the successful operation of a business,” said Keith A. Lake, Director of Political and Candidate Education for the Ohio Chamber.  “We are confident he will be an effective advocate for both the businesses and citizens of the 90th House district as we all work to sharpen Ohio’s competitive edge and grow our economy.”

The Ohio Chamber has been the voice in Columbus for business for more than a century, aggressively championing free enterprise, economic competitiveness and growth for the benefit of all Ohioans.  Chamber members include thousands of individual job providers that are the economic engine for Ohio's communities, schools and families.
